Obtain the section of bus that was removed to separate thegroups for shipping Each section is labeled and shipped inthe carton with the detailsc. The surfaces in the bus joints are silver-plated Clean theplated surfaces of the bus section if necessaryd. Slide the section of main bus through the supports in theside of the vertical section Slide the rubber snubber alongthe bus until it fits inside the opening in the bus supportWhen the bus section is disconnected for shipping, thesplice plates and hardware are left bolted to the end of thebus in each of the adjoining vertical sections Sandwich theend of the disconnected section between the splice platesand fit the other end of the section between the spliceplates on the end of the bus in the adjacent section Boltthe splice plates together on each end of the bus sectionRepeat these steps for each section of bus at eachshipping breakTorque the bolts in the splice plate to the values shownin Table 2Cover joints with the insulating boots provided Figure 7 andFigure 8 show the main bus installation and insulating bootsFigure 5.
