Theymay cause a dull spot even after cleaning.Household ammonia may make the cleaning jobeasier. Place 1/2 cup in a shallow glass or potterycontainer in a cold oven overnight. The ammoniafumes will help loosen the burned-on grease and food.If necessary, you may use an oven cleaner.Follow the package directions.Cautions about using spray-on oven cleaners:l Do not spray on the electrical controls and switchesbecause it could cause a short circuit and result insparking or fire.l Do not allow a film from the cleaner to build upon the temperature sensor—it could cause the ovento heat improperly. Whenreplacing the knobs, check the OFF position to insureproper plticement.The knob stem has a groove in c~:’h side. The grooveon one side has a spring clip. The otiler groove isclear (see illustration). When removing the knob.it may be helpful to slip a thin cloth (such as ahandkerchief> or a piece of string under and aroundthe knob edge and pull up. Check the inside of theknob and find the molded rib.Wash the knobs in soap and water or a vinegar andhot water solution but do not soak.Replace the knob by fitting the molded rib inside theknob into the clear groove on the stem.Clear Groove in Stem25—
