See the Introduction to Elements section at thebeginning of this chapter for further information.5.6.2 SETTING GROUPSPATH: SETTINGS !" CONTROL ELEMENTS ! SETTINGS GROUPSThe Setting Groups menu controls the activation/deactivation of up to six possible groups of settings in the GROUPED ELE-MENTS settings menu. The faceplate ëSettings In Useí LEDs indicate which active group (with a non-flashing energizedLED) is in service. The SETTING GROUPS BLK setting prevents the active setting group from changing when the FlexLogicô parameter is set to"On". This can be useful in applications where it is undesirable to change the settings under certain conditions, such as thebreaker being open. Each GROUP n ACTIVATE ON setting selects a FlexLogicô operand which, when set, will make the particular setting groupactive for use by any grouped element. A priority scheme ensures that only one group is active at a given time ñ the high-est-numbered group which is activated by its GROUP n ACTIVATE ON parameter takes priority over the lower-numberedgroups. There is no ìactivate onî setting for Group 1 (the default active group), because Group 1 automatically becomesactive if no other group is active. The relay can be set up via a FlexLogicô equation to receive requests to activate or de-activate a particular non-defaultsettings group. The following FlexLogicô equation (see the figure below) illustrates requests via remote communications(e.g. VIRTUAL INPUT 1) or from a local contact input (e.g. H7a) to initiate the use of a particular settings group, and requestsfrom several overcurrent pickup measuring elements to inhibit the use of the particular settings group. The assigned VIR-TUAL OUTPUT 1 operand is used to control the ìOnî state of a particular settings group.Figure 5ñ94: EXAMPLE FLEXLOGICô CONTROL OF A SETTINGS GROUP# SETTING GROUPS#SETTING GROUPSFUNCTION: DisabledRange: Disabled, EnabledMESSAGE SETTING GROUPS BLK:OffRange: FlexLogicô operandMESSAGE GROUP 2 ACTIVATE ON:OffRange: FlexLogicô operand↓MESSAGE GROUP 6 ACTIVATE ON:OffRange: FlexLogicô operandMESSAGE SETTING GROUPEVENTS: DisabledRange: Disabled, Enabled
