GE Multilin L90 Line Differential Relay 4-14 HUMAN INTERFACES 4.1 ENERVISTA UR SETUP SOFTWARE INTERFACE44 HUMAN INTERFACES 4.1ENERVISTA UR SETUP SOFTWARE INTERFACE 4.1.1 INTRODUCTIONThe enerVista UR Setup software provides a graphical user interface (GUI) as one of two human interfaces to a UR device. The alternate human interface is implemented via the deviceís faceplate keypad and display (see Faceplate Interface sec-tion in this chapter). The enerVista UR Setup software provides a single facility to configure, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the operationof relay functions, connected over local or wide area communication networks. It can be used while disconnected (i.e. off-line) or connected (i.e. on-line) to a UR device. In off-line mode, settings files can be created for eventual downloading tothe device. In on-line mode, you can communicate with the device in real-time.The enerVista UR Setup software, provided with every L90 relay, can be run from any computer supporting Microsoft Win-dowsÆ 95, 98, NT, 2000, ME, and XP. This chapter provides a summary of the basic enerVista UR Setup software interfacefeatures. The enerVista UR Setup Help File provides details for getting started and using the enerVista UR Setup softwareinterface.4.1.2 CREATING A SITE LISTTo start using the enerVista UR Setup software, a site definition and device definition must first be created. See the enerV-ista UR Setup Help File or refer to the Connecting enerVista UR Setup with the L90 section in Chapter 1 for details.4.1.3 ENERVISTA UR SETUP OVERVIEWa) ENGAGING A DEVICEThe enerVista UR Setup software may be used in on-line mode (relay connected) to directly communicate with a UR relay.Communicating relays are organized and grouped by communication interfaces and into sites. Sites may contain any num-ber of relays selected from the UR product series.b) USING SETTINGS FILESThe enerVista UR Setup software interface supports three ways of handling changes to relay settings:ï In off-line mode (relay disconnected) to create or edit relay settings files for later download to communicating relays.ï While connected to a communicating relay to directly modify any relay settings via relay data view windows, and thensave the settings to the relay.ï You can create/edit settings files and then write them to the relay while the interface is connected to the relay.Settings files are organized on the basis of file names assigned by the user. A settings file contains data pertaining to thefollowing types of relay settings:ï Device Definitionï Product Setupï System Setupï FlexLogicôï Grouped Elementsï Control Elementsï Inputs/Outputsï TestingFactory default values are supplied and can be restored after any changes.c) CREATING AND EDITING FLEXLOGICôYou can create or edit a FlexLogicô equation in order to customize the relay. You can subsequently view the automaticallygenerated logic diagram.
