37To cleanthe doorInside of the door:• Because the area inside the gasket is cleanedduring the self-clean cycle, you do not need toclean this by hand. Any soap left on the linercauses additional stains when the oven isheated, so be sure to rinse thoroughly.• The area outside the gasket can be cleanedwith a soap-filled scouring pad.• Do not rub or clean the door gasket—the fiberglass material of the gasket has anextremely low resistance to abrasion. An intactand well-fitting oven door gasket is essentialfor energy-efficient oven operation and goodbaking results. If you notice the gasketbecoming worn, frayed or damaged inany way or if it has become displaced onthe oven, you should have it replaced.Outside of the door:• Depending on your model, see the Stainlesssteel surfaces section or the Painted surfacessection.Care and CleaningWall OvenPainted surfaces include the door, topof the control panel and the drawer front.Clean these with soap and water or a vinegarand water solution.Do not use commercial oven cleaners, cleaningpowders, steel wool or harsh abrasives on anypainted surface.Paintedsurfaces (onsomemodels)Do not use a steel-wool pad; it will scratch thesurface.To clean the stainless steel surface, usewarm sudsy water or a stainless steel cleaner orpolish. Always wipe the surface in the directionof the grain.
