Plug your range into a 120-volt groundedoutlet only. Do not remove the roundgrounding prong from the plug. If in doubtabout the grounding of the home electricalsystem, it is your personal responsibility andobligation to have an ungrounded outletreplaced with a properly grounded, 3-prongoutlet in accordance with the NationalElectrical Code. Do not use an extensioncord with this appliance.SAFETY PRECAUTIONSIMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICEThe California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act requires the Governor of California topublish a list of substances known to the state to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm, andrequires businesses to warn customers of potential exposure to such substances.Gas appliances can cause minor exposure to four of these substances, namely benzene, carbonmonoxide, formaldehyde and soot, caused primarily by the incomplete combustion of natural gas orLP fuels. Properly adjusted burners, indicated by a bluish rather than a yellow flame, will minimizeincomplete combustion. Exposure to these substances can be minimized by venting with an openwindow or using a ventilation fan or hood.Fluorescent light bulbs and safety valves on standing pilot ranges contain mercury. If your model hasthese features, they must be recycled according to local, state and federal codes.
