Post-Installation Configuration & Checkout3-20 560-0982-01 Rev L GNS 480 (CNX80) Installation Manual3.3.1.1.1 Flag TestThe FLAG TEST page allows testing of the TO/FROM, CDI Valid, and VDI Valid flags for both theMain and Auxiliary CDI outputs. The NAV Superflag, GSI Superflag, and Localizer (ILS Energize) canalso be tested for the Main CDI. While on the TEST menu page, press the FLAGS line select key todisplay the FLAG test page. Press the SELECT line select key to toggle between MAIN and AUX CDIflag tests, as shown in Figure 3-19 and Figure 3-20, respectively.Figure 3-19. Main CDI Flag TestFigure 3-20. Auxiliary CDI Flag TestWhen on the appropriate page turn the large, outer knob to select the flag to be tested. Then turn thesmall, inner knob to change the setting of that flag. Test each setting for every flag of each CDI connectedto the GNS 480.Press the TEST or BACK smart key to return to the Ground Maintenance Test menu.3.3.1.1.2 CDI Deviation TestThe CDI TEST page allows testing of the CDI deviation outputs for both the Main and Auxiliary CDIoutputs. While on the TEST menu page, press the CDI TEST line select key to display the CDI TESTPage. Press the SELECT line select key to toggle between MAIN and AUX CDI deviation tests. TheMAIN CDI test screen is shown in Figure 3-21, and the AUX CDI test screen is identical.
