H13-4SECTION 13TAWS13.3 TAWS ALERTSTAWS Alerts are issued when flight conditions meetparameters that are set within TAWS software algorithms.TAWS alerts typically employ either a CAUTION or aWARNING alert severity level, or both.When an alert is issued, visual annunciations aredisplayed. Aural alerts are simultaneously issued.Annunciations appear in a dedicated field in the lowerleft corner of the display (Figure 13-2). Annunciationsare color-coded according to Table 13-2.Figure 13-2 TAWS Annunciation FieldTAWS Annunciation FieldPop-up terrain alerts (Figures 13-3 & 13-4) can alsoappear during an alert, but only when the TAWS Page isnot displayed.There are two options when an alert is displayed:• Press the CLR Key. This acknowledges thepop-up alert and returns to the currentlyviewed page.• Press the ENT Key.
