ESECTION 2NAV PAGES2-232.8 SATELLITE STATUS PAGEThe Satellite Status Page provides a visual referenceof GPS receiver functions, including current satellitecoverage, GPS receiver status, and position accuracy. The Satellite Status Page (Figure 2-47) is helpful introubleshooting weak (or missing) signal levels due topoor satellite coverage or installation problems.Figure 2-47 Satellite Status Page5 6 71 42 398 10Sky View1Estimated Position Error (EPE) andDilution of Precision (DOP)GPS Receiver Status3Horizontal Uncertainty Level (HUL)4Satellite ID Numbers5Signal Strength Bars6Excluded Satellite7Current Page Group82Number of Pages in Current Page Group9Position of Current Page within CurrentPage Group10As the GPS receiver locks onto satellites, a signalstrength bar appears for each satellite in view, with theappropriate satellite number (01-32) underneath eachbar. The status of satellite reception is shown as follows:• No signal strength bars - The receiver is lookingfor the satellites indicated.• Hollow signal strength bars - The receiver hasfound the satellite(s) and is collecting data (Figure2-48).• Solid signal strength bars - The receiver hascollected the necessary data and the satellite(s) isready for use.• Checkered signal strength bars - Excludedsatellites (Figure 2-47).The sky view display (at top left corner of the page)shows which satellites are currently in view and wherethey are. The outer circle of the sky view represents thehorizon (with north at top of the page), the inner circle45° above the horizon, and the center point directlyoverhead.Figure 2-48 Hollow Signal Strength Bars
