Chapter 3DESCRIPTION OF THE FERTILISERSPREADERThe PRIMO professional fertiliser spreader for granularfertilisers meets the needs of agricultural contractors andlarge farms. The rigid nature of the structure and the qual-ity of the materials used ensures high reliability and pro-ductivity standards, combined with safe, easy road trans-port. There are 8 load capacities available (1270, 1350,1805, 1970, 2340, 2590, 2875 and 3210 litres) to pair withtractors from 120 to 240 HP.The particularly strong structure and mechanics are aguarantee of reliability and constant performance through-out the years.The fertiliser spreader is equipped with all the adjust-ments necessary to evenly and consistently spread fer-tiliser.This agricultural equipment, can only operate by meansof a Cardan shaft applied to the power take-off of an agri-cultural tractor equipped with a lifting unit, with a three-point universal joint.ATTENTION!The fertiliser spreader is suitable exclusively for theuse indicated. Working speed must always be appro-priate for the roughness of the soil. Maximum speedwhen transporting the machine on the road is 25 km/h.Any use other than what is described in these instruc-tions can damage the machine and pose serious dan-ger for the user.This machine has been intended for professionaluse: it must be operated exclusively by preliminarilyeducated, trained and authorised operators who holda regular driving license.Operating instructions• The machine is intended for professional users: op-eration must be allowed to skilled operators only.• The machine must be operated by one operator only.• The machine is not intended for purposes other thanfarming applications.Conforming machine operation also includes:• compliance with all the instructions provided in thismanual• performance of inspection and maintenance opera-tions described in this manual;• exclusive use of genuine MASCHIO GASPARDOspare parts.The Customer must ensure that Qualified Operators forroutine machine operation are suitably trained and provecompetent in carrying out the tasks assigned to them, tak-ing care of their safety and that of third parties.Depending on the qualification level and tasks assigned,qualified operators must be duly instructed on the machinefunctions so as to operate and manage it correctly andguarantee good machine efficiency.Regular operation depends on the correct use and ade-quate maintenance of the equipment. It is advisable there-fore to observe scrupulously what is described in order toprevent any inconveniences that could prejudicate properoperation and duration. It is just as important to keep towhat is described in this booklet since the Manufacturerdeclines all responsibility due to negligence and non-observance of these rules.At any rate the Manufacturer is available to assure im-mediate and accurate technical assistance and all thatmay be necessary for the improved operation and betterperformance of the equipment.The machine user shall be liable for damage caused bynon-compliance with the instructions hereby.ATTENTION!The machine must be operated by qualified opera-tors of the Customer. The operator must wear suitablepersonal protection equipment (safety footwear, over-alls and gloves, etc.).Precautions for useBelow is a list of precautions for use the machine:• ensure that there are no remarkably big stones orrocks on the soil;• ensure that there are no metal elements of any typewhatsoever, but especially nets, cables, wire ropes,chains, pipes, etc. on the soil.16
