Chapter 5MAINTENANCE5.1 PARTS SUBJECT TO WEARThe parts subject to wear are:• the spreading vanes• the inner agitator• the drop guide tube. The duration of these parts depends greatly on the typeof material that is spread; as such, we recommend visuallychecking the state of wear at the beginning of each workday. If these parts show signs of extreme wear (holes, deformations), then they must be replaced immediately. Inaddition to a decline in machine performance, there is thedanger of machine parts being projected.ALL PARTS MUST BE REPLACED ONLY WITHORIGINAL SPARE PARTS.5.2 CLEANINGDANGER!All operations must be done exclusively with thetractor off, P.T.O. disengaged, parked withparking brake and with the key removed. We recommend cleaning the fertiliser spreader right afterusing it.Before cleaning and washing, empty the loading hoppercompletely. DO NOT dump the collected material but dis-pose of it following the instructions provided by the manu-facturer.To wash the machine, open the product outlet shutters.• The products used for cleaning must be disposedof according to the laws in force.• Install the guards removed for cleaning and main-tenance; replace them with new ones if they aredamaged.• Clean the electrical components only with a drycloth.USING PRESSURISED CLEANING SYSTEMS(Air/Water)• Always keep in mind the rules that regulate useof these systems.• Do not pressure clean electrical components.• Do not pressure clean chromium-plated compo-nents.• Do not place the nozzle in contact with the partsof the equipment, especially the bearings. Keepit at a min. distance of 30 cm from the surface tobe cleaned.• Thoroughly lubricate the equipment, especially aftercleaning it with pressurised systems.Once cleaning is complete, dry the machine thoroughly. We recommend treating all the unpainted parts with anenvironmentally friendly anticorrosive product.5.3 EMPTYING THE HOPPERDANGER!All operations must be done exclusively with thetractor off, P.T.O. disengaged, parked withparking brake and with the key removed. Before emptying the hopper (refer also to the control sys-tem instructions manual), you must prepare the machineas follows.1. Remove the spreading discs as shown in § 4.7.3 onpage 30.2. Once the spreading discs have been removed, repo-sition the agitator drive shaft in its housing and tightenthe locking handwheel (see fig. 4.24).3. Turn the drop point positioning lever to the 0 position.4. Once the fertiliser spreader has been prepared foremptying, get on the tractor and proceed as in-structed in the control system instructions manual.40
