If the upperand lower cable tracks are notproperly secured together, thecable track could becomeunbalanced and fall whenremoved from the machine.15 Attach a strap from an overhead crane to thecable track.16 Remove the cotter pin from the cable track pulltube at the platform end of the boom.Note: Always replace the cotter pin with a new one.17 Remove the cable track pull tube guidefasteners from the cable track guide at theplatform end of the boom. Remove the cabletrack guide from the boom.18 Remove the cable track mounting fastenersthat attach the lower cable track to the primaryboom.19 Carefully remove the cable track from themachine and place it on a structure capable ofsupporting it.Crushing hazard. The cabletrack could becomeunbalanced and fall if notproperly attached to theoverhead crane.Component damage hazard.Cables and hoses can bedamaged if they are kinked orpinched.Component damage hazard.The cable track can bedamaged if it is twisted.How to R emove the C able Trac k, S-65 XC and S-65 XC TR AXHow to Remove the Cable Track,S-65 XC and S-65 XC TRAXNote: When removing a hose assembly or fitting,the O-ring (if equipped) on the fitting and/or hoseend must be replaced. All connections must betorqued to specification during installation. Refer toSpecifications, Hydraulic Hose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Open the platform control box.2 Tag and disconnect the foot switch wiring fromthe terminal strip inside the platform controlbox. Pull the wiring out of the platform controlbox.3 Raise the boom to a horizontal position.4 Disconnect the wire connectors from thebottom of the platform control box.Note: When installing the wire connectors to thebottom of the platform control box, match the colorof the connectors to those on the control box to besure they are installed in the correct location.5 Remove the mounting fasteners from thepower to platform outlet box bracket. Lay theoutlet box and bracket assembly off to the side.6 Remove the hose and cable clamps from theplatform support and jib boom.7 Tag, disconnect and plug the platform levelingslave cylinder hydraulic hoses from thebulkhead fittings on the side of the primaryboom. Cap the bulkhead fittings.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.8
