InstallationTo prevent possible damage to yourspeakers and other components in youraudio system, it is important that ALLcomponents, including the HD720 andreceivers are turned off and unpluggedfrom their AC power source wheninstalling any new component.Connecting the HD720 to your audiosystem is simple. Using standard RCA-to-RCA interconnect cords, connect theleft and right Fixed Audio Outputjacks ™ on the rear panel to the CDinput jacks on your receiver, surroundprocessor or preamplifier. If your system includes an optional, external digital-to-analog converter, orif you are using a receiver or other pro-cessor that has the capability to decodePCM digital input signals, connect theCoaxial Digital Output jack ¡ tothe Datastream Digital input on thedecoder. Make certain to use a coaxial-style interconnect cable, as standardaudio cables will not perform as well.Install the two AA batteries supplied withthe HD720’s remote by turning the remoteover so that you are holding the bottomside up. Press lightly on the embossedarrow on the cover, and gently slide thecover towards you in the direction of thearrow. Insert the batteries inside the com-partment, being careful to follow the +and – polarity indications at the bottom ofthe compartment. Replace the cover byplacing it on the remote and sliding itback towards the top of the remote.NOTE: When replacing batteries it isalways a good idea to replace both at thesame time. When the unit will not beused for an extended period of time, it isalso a good idea to remove the batteriesso that the potential for corrosion ordamage is avoided.Connect the power to a non-switched ACwall outlet, or to the accessory outlet onthe rear of another audio device in yoursystem and you are ready to go!NOTE: When using the accessory outleton another product to power the HD720make certain that it has the ability topower a device that draws at least 14watts of current in addition to therequirements of other devices that maybe plugged into the accessory outlets. Ifyou use a “switched” outlet, it is impor-tant to remember that the host productmust be turned on in order for theHD720 to operate.9
