Front Panel Controls51 Power Switch: Press this switchto apply power to the HD720. Whenthe switch is first turned on, theStatus Mode Indicator light 2 sur-rounding the switch will turn green.Once the unit has been turned onwith this switch it may be operatedfrom either the front panel or remotecontrol. Press the switch again toturn the unit completely off.2 Status Mode Indicator: Whenthe HD720 is in the ON mode, thisindicator will glow green. When theunit has been placed in the Standbymode by pressing the Off button aon the remote, the indicator will glowamber, indicating that the unit is stillconnected to the AC main supplyand is ready to be turned on fromthe remote control.3 Remote Sensor Window: Thesensor behind this window receivescommands from the remote control.Keep this area clear if you wish touse the HD720 with a remote control.4 Play Button: Press this button tostart the playback of a CD. If the CDdrawer is open, pressing this buttonwill automatically close the drawer.5 Stop/Clear: Press this button tostop the disc currently being played.During programming functions, thisbutton is also used to clear thesystem memory (see page 13).6 Pause Button: Press this buttononce to momentarily stop a disc.When the button is pressed again,the disc will resume play at the pointit was stopped.7 Search Buttons: Press one ofthese buttons to search forward— or backwards ‚ through adisc to locate a particular portion ofthe selection.8 Skip Buttons: Press one ofthese buttons to move to the nexttrack fl·, or to move back to theprevious track ‡fi.9 Display Button: Press this buttononce to dim the brightness of thedisplay. Press it again to turn the dis-play off completely. An additionalpress of the button will return thedisplay to normal brightness.) Time Button: Press this button toselect the time display. In normaloperation, the display will show therunning time of a track being played.Press the button once to check thetime remaining for the track in play.Press the button a third time to viewthe total time remaining for the discin play.! Program Button: This buttonis used to program the playbackof a disc in a particular order. (Seepage 13 for complete instructionson programming the HD720.)@ Program Check Button: Pressthis button to check the order oftracks programmed into the HD720’smemory. (See page 13 for completeinformation on programming theHD720.)# Random Button: Press thisbutton to put a disc into play, andto have all of the tracks played ina random order. (See page 10 formore information.)$ Repeat Button: Press this buttononce to continually repeat all trackson a disc. Press it again to repeatonly the track currently being played.(See page 14 for more information.)% Headphones Level: Turn thisknob to increase or decrease thevolume level for headphones con-nected to the HD720’s HeadphonesJack ^. Note that changing thislevel will not change the sound levelfor the unit’s main output, as thatremains constant.^ Headphones Jack: Connect aset of standard headphones to thisjack for private listening.& Open/Close: Press this buttonto open or close the disc drawer.The drawer may also be closedby pressing the Play button 4 j,or by gently pressing the edge ofthe drawer.
