Chapter 9: MediaStore 5100 and 5000 series hardware referenceAbout the MediaStore 5000 seriesUsing 6 Gb/s SAS connections and the MediaDirector 2252B or 2251B, up to four MediaStore 5000series can be connected together. A second MediaDirector can be added for Extended File Sharing.The MediaStore 5000 series include the following features:• 16 or 24 disk drive capacity, all contained in a 2 RU chassis. The chassis can house two (for 16 drivecapacities) or three (for 24 drive capacities) 6+2 RAID sets. All drives install from the front of thechassis. The chassis installs in astandard 19-inch rack and uses two EIA units of rack space (2 RU). The chassis assembly also includesan integral Operator Panel, mounted on the front.The chassis assembly contains 24 drive bays at the front, each of which accommodates a plug-in drivecarrier module.
