Powering upPowering upPower up your Spectrum system devices in the order described.NOTE: The network on which the Spectrum system is installed should have a DHCPserver enabled to assign IP addresses. If you do not have a DHCP server on your network, contact Harmonic Technical Support for assistance.1. For the MediaDirector 2252B, 2252B-DS, and 2251B only: apply power to the MediaStore as follows.a. Ensure that all MediaStore modules are firmly seated in their correct bays.b. Apply power to each MediaStore.c. Turn each PCM switch to ON.On the Operators Panel, the Alarm beeps once, all LEDs flash for seven seconds, then the Alarmdouble beeps. After the double beep, during normal operation, the System Power LED on theOperators Panel should be lit solid green and the disk drive motors should start. Before continuing, on the MediaStores, ensure that all drive Activity LEDs have stopped blinking. Thisindicates that the MediaStore drives have properly spun up and have reached speed.NOTE: The entire system should have power applied within 10 seconds. If thiscannot be done, power up MediaStores first followed as quickly as possible byMediaDirectors.IMPORTANT: Both power supplies should be used for optimum performance. Whenthe MediaStore is powered up with only a single power supply, drive spin-up can takeup to two minutes. When both power supplies are used, spin-up takes approximately30 seconds.IMPORTANT: There are rare instances when a MediaStore is unresponsive afterpower up. If this happens, note the status of the LEDs on the MediaStore. Afterseveral minutes, the LEDs should come to a stable and a non-blinking state, providedthe system is quiescent and the drives or RAID sets contained therein have not beenput into a Wink state by the SystemManager application. If the drives are blinking, the MediaStore should be powered off (both power supplies turned off), and thenpowered on again.2.
