Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”on page 99.2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cordsand all external cables necessary to replace the device.3. Remove the top cover and bezel (see “Top cover and bezel” on page 113).4. Remove all fans (see “Hot-swap fan” on page 105).5. Remove the memory cards (see “Removing and replacing a memory card” onpage 108).6. Lift the microprocessor-tray release latch, open the microprocessor-tray levers,and pull the microprocessor tray out of the server slightly (see “Removing andinstalling a microprocessor” on page 122).7. Remove the power supplies and the power-supply structure (see“Power-supply structure” on page 119).8. Move the retention latch away from the scalability cartridge assembly, graspthe blue handle, and lift the assembly out of the server, allowing the structureto pivot at the chassis rear.9. Move the assembly away from the chassis rear as you lift the assembly fromthe server.10.
