Chapter 4. Configuring the serverThe following configuration programs are available to configure the server:v Configuration/Setup Utility programThe Configuration/Setup Utility program is part of the basic input/output system(BIOS) code in the server. You can use this program to configure serial portassignments, change interrupt request (IRQ) settings, change the device startupsequence, set the date and time, set passwords, and set the chassis intrusiondetector. For information about using this utility program, see “Starting theConfiguration/Setup Utility program” on page 44.v Boot Menu programThe Boot Menu program is part of the BIOS code in the server. Use it totemporarily assign a device to be first in the startup sequence, overriding thestartup sequence that is set in the Configuration/Setup Utility program. Forinformation about using this utility program, see “Using the Boot Menu program”on page 44.v Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Boot AgentThe Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Boot Agent is part of the BIOS. Youcan use it to configure the network as a startable device, and you can customizewhere the network Startup optional devices occurs in the startup sequence.Enable and disable the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Boot Agent fromthe Configuration/Setup Utility program. For information, see“Enabling theBroadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Boot Agent” on page 44.v Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet controller configurationTo configure the integrated Gigabit Ethernet controller, see “Configuring theBroadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet controller” on page 45.v LSI Configuration Utility programUse the LSI Configuration Utility program to configure the integrated SAS/SATAcontroller with RAID capabilities and the devices that are attached to it.
