Removing and replacing componentsReplaceable components consist of consumable parts, structural parts, and fieldreplaceable units (FRUs):v Consumables: Purchase and replacement of consumables (components, such asbatteries and printer cartridges, that have depleting life) is your responsibility. IfIBM acquires or installs a consumable component at your request, you will becharged for the service.v Structural parts: Purchase and replacement of structural parts (components, suchas chassis assembly, top cover, and bezel) is your responsibility. If IBM acquiresor installs a structural component at your request, you will be charged for theservice.v Field replaceable unit (FRU): FRUs must be installed only by trainedtechnicians, unless they are classified as customer replaceable units (CRUs):– Tier 1 customer replaceable unit (CRU): Replacement of Tier 1 CRUs is yourresponsibility.
