Preparing the hardware 1515.3.4 ServeRAID M5210 RAID controller configurationThe UEFI provides access to the LSI MegaRAID Configuration Utility as used by theServeRAID M5210 SAS/SATA Controller. Access the menu in UEFI by selecting SystemSettings Storage LSI MegaRAID Configuration Utility, asshown in Figure 5-18.Figure 5-18 LSI MegaRAID Utility panel for ServeRAID M5210The LSI MegaRAID Configuration Utility has several options for managing your internal disks.Figure 5-19 displays the options available in the LSI MegaRAID Configuration Utility panel.Figure 5-19 LSI MegaRAID Configuration Utility, Main Menu panelSettings in this menu are as follows: Configuration Management:Displays configuration options. Some options appear only if the controller supports them.As an example, create virtual drive, create CacheCade virtual drive, make JBOD, makeUnconfigured Good, clear configuration, manage foreign configuration, view drive groupproperties, and view global hot spare drives. Controller Management:Displays the controller status and basic properties of the controller such as product name,serial number, PCI ID, firmware version, NVDATA Version, set factory defaults, and clearconfiguration. You can also use the advanced link to view additional properties andperform additional tasks such as changing the security key, saving the TTY log. Virtual Drive Management:Manages the virtual drive properties and enables you to view the basic virtual driveproperties and perform operations such as background initialization and consistencycheck. You can also view additional properties using the Advanced link. Drive Management:Displays the basic drive properties and performs operations such as assign/unassign ahot spare drive, locate drives, place drive offline/online, and rebuild a drive. You can alsoview additional properties using the Advanced link.
