When+12 volts is applied to the remotewire, the amplifier is turned on.A red LED on the end panel ofthe amplifier lights whenever theamplifier is on. If the head unithas a +12 volt automatic antennaor amplifier remote activationwire, connect it to the blue/whitewire of the GTS100x.Some head units have no auto-matic antenna or power ampactivation wire. Other decks haveautomatic antenna wires that are“on” only when the radio is used(the +12 volt signal is off when atape is played). In such cases, connect the remote turn-on wireto an unused accessory terminalin the fuse block, or any other +12volt source that is turned on andoff with the vehicle’s ignitionswitch. The remote on/off systemdraws negligible current, so a rel-atively small (18 or 20 gauge)extension wire may be used. Besure to securely crimp or solderand insulate the wire-to-wireconnections.
