High watertemperatures in excess of 40°C (104°F) and prolongedperiods of use can raise the internal human body tempera-ture excessively and impair the body’s ability to regulate itsinternal temperature. Limit your initial use of the spa to10-15 minutes. High body temperatures affect peopledifferently; consult your physician about your safety andcomfort before using the spa.The elderly, the infirm, and children should not use the spaunattended. Infants should not be permitted in the spa atwater temperatures over 38°C (100°F). Pregnant womenand people with heart conditions should consult their phy-sicians before using the spa at water temperatures over38°C (100°F).Extra care should be taken when using the spa and con-suming alcoholic beverages. Alcohol, drugs, or certainmedications such as tranquilizers affect a person’s ability towithstand high temperatures and may produce dangerouseffects.Keep body, hair, and clothing a minimum of 300mm (12inches) away from suction fitting and skimmers at all timeswhen the spa is operating. Hair longer than shoulder lengthshould be secured close to the head, or a bathing capshould be worn. Do not remove the suction grilles! Theyare safety devices and must always be in place on thesuction fitting to minimize the potential hazard of hairentanglement or body entrapment.The wet surface of the spa is slippery. Use care whenentering and exiting.While the optional spa cover is rigid, it is not designed tosupport any weight. Therefore, as a safety precaution, donot sit, stand or lie on it.The spa must be installed with adequate access and waterdrainage system. (See Installation Instructions.)When using the electrical equipment, basic safetyprecautions should always be followed:This unit is equipped with an earth leakage circuit breaker(ELCB) located in the electrical cabinet. Check at leastonce a month to be sure this is operational. (The procedurefor testing is described on page 7 of this manual.)Do not use electrically connected devices such as televi-sion, radio, or stereo speakers, lights, cooking devices, ortelephones within 1.5m (5 feet) of the spa while the spa isbeing used. Lighting fixtures must not be located directlyabove or within 1.5m (5 feet) of the spa. If located with 3m(10 feet) of the spa, they must be on a circuit protected byan ELCB.Do not apply power to the spa unless it is filled with waterto the normal water level, which is to the water levelindicator mark on the skimmer frame.
