18C LOCK AND CONTROLPAD AREA• To activate “Control Lock” for cleaning,see page 15.• Wipe with a damp cloth and dry.• Glass cleaners may be used if sprayed ona cloth first. DO NOT spray directlyon control pad and display area.C ONTROL P ANEL• Wipe with damp cloth.• For stubborn soil, use mildly abrasivecleaning agents such as Bon Ami*. DoNOT use abrasive cleaners such as steelwool pads or oven cleaners. These prod-ucts will permanently damage the sur-face.C ONTROL K NOBS• Remove knobs in the OFF position bypulling forward.• Wash, rinse and dry. Do not use abra-sive cleaning agents as they may scratchthe finish.• Turn on each element to be sure theknobs have been correctly replaced.C OOKTOP-PORCELAINENAMELPorcelain enamel is glass fused on metal andmay crack or chip with misuse. It is acidresistant, not acid proof. All spillovers,especially acidic or sugary spillovers, shouldbe wiped up immediately with a dry cloth.• When cool, wash with soapy water, rinseand dry.• Never wipe off a warm or hot surfacewith a damp cloth. This may cause crack-ing or chipping.• Never use oven cleaners, abrasive orcaustic cleaning agents on exterior finishof range.DOOR HANDLE – PLASTICF INISHES• When cool, clean with soap and water,rinse and dry.• Use a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.NOTE: Never use oven cleaners, abrasiveor caustic liquid or powdered cleansers onplastic finishes. These cleaning agents willscratch or mar finish.NOTE: To prevent staining or discolora-tion, wipe up fat, grease or acid (tomato,lemon, vinegar, milk, fruit juice, marinade)immediately with a dry paper towel.OVEN WINDOW & D OOR –GLASS• Avoid using excessive amounts of waterwhich may seep under or behind glasscausing staining.• Wash with soap and water. Rinse withclear water and dry. Glass cleaner canbe used if sprayed on a cloth first.• Do not use abrasive materials such asscouring pads, steel wool or powderedcleaners as they will scratch glass.OVEN I NTERIORS• Follow instructions on page 17 to set aself-clean cycle.OVEN R ACKS• Clean with soapy water.• Remove stubborn soil with cleansingpowder or soap-filled scouring pad. Rinseand dry.• If over time, racks do not slide out easily,wipe the rack edge and rack supportwith a small amount of vegetable oil torestore ease of movement, then wipe offexcess oil. Likewise, place one drop ofvegetable oil on rack guides.NOTE: Remove oven racks during a cleancycle. If racks are left in the oven, it may impairfunction and they will discolor.CLEANING P ROCEDURES• Be sure appliance is off and allparts are cool before handling orcleaning. This is to avoid dam-age and possible burns.• To prevent staining or discoloration,clean appliance after each use.• If a part is removed, be sure it iscorrectly replaced.ACCESS P ANELThe access panel is easily opened or re-moved. To open panel, grasp upper cor-ners and pull forward and down. To closepanel, lift up and insert prongs into catchesin the range.• Wash with soap and water, a glass cleaner,or mild liquid sprays.• Do not use excessive amounts of water.• To prevent scratching or dulling of thefinish, do not use mildly abrasive, abra-sive, harsh or caustic cleaners such asoven cleaners.NOTE: To avoid the possibility of acci-dentally disconnecting any part of theventilation system, do not use the areabehind the access panel for storage.B ROILER PAN AND I NSERT• Place soapy cloth over insert and pan; letsoak to loosen soil.• Wash in warm soapy water.
