English - 19Water supplyCaution! Impurities in the intake water damage thepump. To prevent this we expressly urge you to usethe Kärcher water filter (order no. 4.730-059).The operation of the high-pressure cleaner with aclosed water supply line causes damage to the cy-linder head unit. Please never operate the high-pres-sure cleaner with a closed water supply tap.The unit can either be supplied from the water mainor from water in an open container.Water supply from the water main• Connect a supply hose (not included) to the waterinlet of the unit and to the water supply (e.g. watertap).• Open the water supply.Water supply from an open container• Unscrew the coupling part for the water inlet.• Screw the suction hose with filter (not included,see “Special accessories”) onto the water connectionof the unit.• Hang the filter in the container.• Vent the unit before operation.– Unscrew the high-pressure line at the high-pres-sure outlet of the unit.– Switch on the unit and let it run until water freeof bubbles emerges at the high-pressure out-let.– Switch off the unit and screw on the high-pres-sure hose again.Preparation• Insert power plug.• Turn master switch to “I”.Switching on• Press safety button on the handgun and pull thelever.Switching off• Release the lever.During breaks in work and when leaving the unit secureit against inadvertent switching on by pressing thesafety button.Regulate operating pressureRaise operating pressure:twist spray lance in direction “+”.Reduce operating pressure:twist spray lance in direction “–”.Adding the cleaning agent• Twist the spray lance in the “–” direction until thestop.• Draw the cleaning agent suction hose out of thehousing to the required length.• Meter out the cleaning agent.– medium quantity: centre-position– large quantity: “+” position– small quantity: “–” position.• Hang the cleaning agent metering valve in the cle-aning agent container.• Twist the spray lance in the “–” direction until thestop.If cleaning agent has been added:• Hang the cleaning agent metering valve ina container of clear water, switch on the unit forabout one minute and flush through.Recommended cleaning method1. Spray the cleaning agent on the dry surface spa-ringly and let it react (but not dry out).2. Wash off the loosened dirt with the high-pressu-re jet.Connect accessoriesDepending on the model the following accessoriesare either included in the scope of delivery or areobtainable from specialist dealers (see also “Speci-al accessories”).• Exchange the respective accessory with the spraylance.Wash brushfor large, smooth surfaces – e.g. on the automobile,caravan or boat.Cleaning agent can be added.Rotating wash brushfor gentle and thorough cleaning – e.g. bodyworkand glass surfaces.Cleaning agent can be added.Rotary nozzlefor stubborn accumulations of grime – e.g. moss-covered promenade tiles or facades.Work without cleaning agent and with the highestoperating pressure.Finishing operations• Master switch to “0”.• Draw out power plug.Water supplied from the water main• Close the water supply tap.• Separate the unit from the water connection.Water supplied from an open container• Unscrew the suction hose with filter at the waterinlet of the unit.• Pull the lever on the handgun until the unit is wit-hout pressure.• Press in the safety button to protect the unit againstinadvertent switching on.SafekeepingCaution! Frost can destroy an incompletely emp-tied unit. In the winter keep the unit in a frost-freeroom.• Separate the spray lance from the handgun.• Wind up the power cord and, for example, hang itaround the handgun. |
