295. To De-activate: Enter Command ###PIN where PIN is your Master orManager code (or Privileged User code if setup as such using the E-PlexStandard Software). The lock will cycle the motor once and will prompt youwith Green LED flashing to turn the lever back up to the home (horizontal)position to de-activate the holdback. If the lever was already in the homeposition but still in holdback, push it down first and then repeat the proce-dure from the beginning of this Step 5. The latch is now fully extendedback in the locked position de-activating the holdback mode; you will onceagain hear the lock motor cycling.Warning: Ensure that you de-activate the Latch Holdback mode when not need-ed; otherwise the lock will stay unlocked permanently compromising security.6. You can also de-activate the Latch Holdback mode mechanically by per-forming the following operation: insert the mechanical key in the overridecylinder, turn the key to retract the latch. The lever will automaticallyspring back to the home position de-activating the holdback; remove thekey from the lock cylinder.PROCEDURE 20 - SWINGBOLT OPERATIONThis operation is similar to the Privacy function of a conventional lock with aphysical deadbolt, but not quite! In the E-Plex 3000 Swinbolt operation, anyvalid user can disengage, ie., override the “privacy” by entering a valid PIN andthen turning the thumbturn which will retract the swingbolt down. Now the lockwill behave as though it is in a “latch holdback” mode since the swingbolt iscompletely retracted and stays retracted, thus allowing free access without anycodes. You perform the same sequence of operations to engage, ie., re-lock bybringing the swingbolt back to its “home” (horizontal locked) position.• the swingbolt engage (project it) and disengage (retract it) actions arestrictly manual by flipping the thumbturn on the lock front housing. Thisfunction is neither programmable nor automatic and so you must ensureto re-lock if it was left too long in a retracted position,• any valid user can perform this function – ie., engage or disengage theswingbolt anytime,• when the swingbolt is disengaged (retracted), it will physically stayretracted down when the door closes so that users carrying packages etcdo not have the inconvenience of having to turn the thumbturn again toopen the door, but simply push the door to enter without a code,• from the interior side of the door, any person (valid user or not) canmanually retract or engage the swingbolt to unlock or lock the door.Required User Level: Master, Manager, Access user & Service user1. To Disengage (retract swingbolt): Enter a valid PIN to open and the lock willflash the green LED indicating that you are a valid user and you are allowedto disengage the swingbolt to unlock. Turn the thumbturn on the lock fronthousing clockwise and hold. The swingbolt will fully retract down and willstay retracted, allowing you to enter the door. Let go off the thumbturn sothat it will revert back to its normal horizontal (home) position but the swing-bolt will stay retracted and disengaged.
