OPERATING INSTRUCTIONSPRE OUTPUT/POWER IN JACKS PRE OUT POWER INIndependent Preamplifier and Power Amplifier SectionsThe preamplifier and power sections are tied LEFTtogether by short jumpers at the PRE OUT/POWERIN jacks. These major sections may be separated forindependent operation by removing the shortjumpers. This permits the KA-907 preamps to drive RIGHTanother set of power amplifiers for test or com-parison purposes. In addition, an external preampmay be connected to the POWER IN jacks to drive ; .a . When not using these jacks, be sure tothe power amplifier section of the KA-907. OOO HO &Note: As 32° 66°O) 000 tFor further details on connections, etc, see the instruction manualsupplied with the adaptor.Precautions when using the POWER IN jackse The power amplifier in the KA-907 is fully DCcoupled. if a DC voltage is applied at the POWERIN jacks it will be amplified and appear as a largedirect current into your speakers (the speakercones will show a static displacement). To pro-tect your speakers, make sure that there is nosteady-state DC voltage applied from the equip-ment connected to the POWER IN jacks.¢ Ifa DC voltage in excess of 200 mV is applied tothe POWER IN jacks the protection circuit will ac-tivate to prevent speaker or circuit damage andthe power indicator will flash to indicate a fault.Note:There are no level controls in the power amplifier section.
