m Programming Microphone [PF]You can program microphone [PF] with a function thatcannot be activated using the Front Panel keys.Access “PF” in Menu B to select USeR setting,MONitor, or ENTer {page 17}. The default is USeRsetting.When you select USeR setting:The function assigned by pressing [PF]+ POWER ON isselected (Default: MHz)When you select MONitor:You can monitoractivityonthe currentfrequency.Pressingmicrophone[PF] togglesthe functionONandOFF.ScanwillnotfunctionifMonitorisON(squelchopen).When you select ENTer:Afterpressingmicrophone[PF],youcanenterdigitsfromtheMC-53DMmicrophone.Referto“KEYPADDIRECT ENTRY”{page43}.SWITCHING AM/FM MODE(SOME TM-261A VERSIONS ONLY)SomeversionsofthetransceiverareabletoreceiveAMandFMmodes. TheAMmodeisselected automaticallywhenanyfrequencyintherange118.000to135.995MHz(AIRband)ischosen.Outsidethisrange,the defaultisFM.However,eithermodecanbe selectedmanuallyonanyVHFfrequency.
