PREPARATION FOR MOBILE AND FIXED STATION OPERAMOBILE INSTALLATIONInstall the transceiver in a safe, convenient position insideyour vehicle that minimizes danger to your passengers andyourself while the vehicle is in motion. For example,consider installing the transceiver under the dash in front ofthe passenger seat so that knees or legs will not strike thetadio during sudden braking of your vehicle. Try to pick awell-ventilated location that is shielded from direct sunlight.@ Installation ExampleUse the supplied mounting bracket to install thetransceiver inside your vehicle. To enjoy the bestviewing angle, you can position the transceiver in thebracket in a number of ways as shown below.@ Installation Steps1. Install the mounting bracket in the vehicle using thesupplied flat washers and self-tapping screws.There are 4 washers and 4 screws supplied.¢ The bracket can be mounted with the bracket openingfor the transceiver facing down for underdashmounting, or with the apening facing up.e {f mounted underdash, the bracket must be installedso that the 3 screw holes on the edge of each bracketside are facing forward. This allows you to mount thetransceiver horizontally or to angle it forward.¢ If mounted with the bracket opening facing upward,position the bracket with the 3 holes facing the rear toangle the transceiver upward. Position the bracketwith the 3 holes facing forward if you plan to angle thetransceiver downward. The transceiver can bemounted horizontally, angled neither up nor down, withthe bracket positioned either way.Flat washer eeSelf-tapping ——&screw2 Position the transceiver, then insert and tighten thesupplied hexagon SEMS screws and washers.There are 2 screws and 2 washers supplied for eachside of the bracket.¢ Double check that all hardware is tightened to preventvehicle vibration from loosening the bracket ortransceiver.
