Use a neutraldetergent (no strong chemicals) and a damp cloth toclean the case.RESETTING THE TRANSCEIVERIf your transceiver seems to be malfunctioning, resettingthe microprocessor may solve the problem. Thefollowing 2 reset modes are available. When performingthe reset, you may lose memory data and storedinformation. Back up or write down important databefore performing the reset.I NITIAL S ETTINGSThe factory defaults for the operating frequencies are asfollows.• Transceiver: 144.000 MHzThe Memory Channels have no data stored. TheWeather Radio frequency (AL channel) is restored as162.550 MHz (K market models only). Refer to pages25 and 56 for the Call Channel and frequency step sizedefault values.Note: When in Channel Display Mode or while Key Lock is activated{page 58}, you cannot perform VFO reset or Full reset.FULL R ESETThis resets all transceiver parameters to the factorydefault values. There are two methods available forresetting the transceiver.Full Reset Method 1:1 With the transceiver power OFF, press [F]+[ ](Power).• All indicators light momentarily, followed by the full resetconfirmation message.2 Press [F].• “SURE ?” appears.• Press any key other than [F] to cancel.3 Press [F] again to reset the transceiver.• “WAIT” appears momentarily.
