Sonic Emotion settingsWhen you turn on Sonic Emotion from the Advanced audio settingsmenu, these additional settings become available:● Dialog Enhancement – Enhances your ability to hear andunderstand dialog in the program.● Bass Enhancement – Enhances the low frequency soundcomponent in the program.● Absolute 3D Sound – Simulates sound from multiple speakersthat would otherwise require installation of a surround soundaudio system.Advanced picture settingsThe Advanced picture settings menu for each TV input providessettings for fine tuning the appearance of the picture. All of thesettings in this menu apply only to the currently-selected input.To use the Advanced picture settings menu, first press A to displaythe Options menu. Then select Advanced picture settings.Typical Advanced picture settings menuAdvanced picture settings menu options● Picture mode – Provides picture presets for various viewingpreferences. This setting duplicates the one on the Optionsmenu. When you change the Picture mode, other picturesettings adjust accordingly. For example, setting the Picturemode to Vivid sets Brightness, Contrast, Sharpness, and othervalues to produce a very vibrant picture. Setting Picture mode toMovie changes the settings to produce a picture suitable forenjoying movies in a darkened room. If you make changes to theindividual picture settings—for example, Contrast, or Sharpness—these settings are saved for the current input and the currentpicture mode. In this way, you can set HDMI 1 input’s Moviepicture mode to use different settings than the HDMI 2 input’sMovie picture mode and Antenna TV’s Movie picture mode. UseReset picture settings, described below, to return the input’sselected picture mode to its original values.● Local contrast – Only on select models: Sets the amount ofdimming multiple “local” areas of the screen’s backlightintensity. This setting can make dark areas darker withoutaffecting the brightness of light areas. This option is disabledwhen Game mode is enabled.● Dynamic contrast – Only on select models: Automatically adjuststhe backlight level to achieve the optimum contrast and preventexcessive differences between light and dark areas of thescreen. This option is disabled when Local dimming/Localcontrast is enabled.● Backlight - Adjusts the overall light intensity of the screen. Onsome models, this option is disabled when Dynamic contrast isenabled.● Brightness – Adjusts the dark level of the black areas of thepicture.● Contrast – Adjusts the white level of the light areas of the picture.● Sharpness – Adjusts the sharpness of the edges of objects inthe picture.● Color – Adjusts the intensity of colors in the picture. A setting of0 removes all color and displays a black and white picture.● Tint – Adjusts the color balance from green to red to obtainaccurate colors in the picture.● Color temperature – Adjusts the overall colors in the picture fromNormal to slightly more bluish (Cool) to slightly more reddish(Warm).● Action smoothing – Only on select models: Adjusts the amountof action smoothing applied to the video signal. A higher settingresults in more smoothing, but can cause undesirable pictureartifacts in certain types of content. Each Picture mode has adifferent Action smoothing default setting.● Natural Cinema – Only on select models: When enabled, thisfeature reduces “judder” that is often present when 24 frame-per-second movies are upscaled to 60Hz TV standards. NaturalCinema mode is On by default in Movie and HDR Dark picturemodes, and Off by default in other picture modes. When NaturalCinema mode is On, Action smoothing is turned off anddisabled.● Action clarity – Only on select 120Hz models: Reduces blur,especially for fast-moving images such as sports.● LED action clarity – Only on select models: Reduces motion blurcaused by LED backlight latency. Enabling this feature insertsblack frames between picture frames in a way that improves theclarity of fast movement. It provides an improved viewingexperience for video games and sporting events. When LEDaction clarity is enabled, the Brightness and Dynamic contrastsettings are disabled. You can choose settings of Low, Medium,High, or Off to achieve the desired picture quality. EnablingGame mode sets LED action clarity to Medium.38 .English
