Do not use the grass shear in bad weatherconditions, especially when there is a risk oflightning. This decreases the risk of being struckby lightning.2. Keep all power cords and cables away fromcutting area. Power cords or cables may behidden and can be accidentally cut by the blade.3. Wear ear protection. Adequate protective equip-ment will reduce the risk of hearing loss.4. Hold the grass shear by insulated grippingsurfaces only, because the blade may contacthidden wiring. Blades contacting a “live” wiremay make exposed metal parts of the grass shear“live” and could give the operator an electricshock.5. Keep all parts of the body away from the blade.Do not remove cut material or hold materialto be cut when blades are moving. Bladescontinue to move after the switch is turned off. Amoment of inattention while operating the grassshear may result in serious personal injury.6. When clearing jammed material or servicingthe grass shear, make sure the power switch isoff and the battery pack is removed or discon-nected. Unexpected actuation of the grass shearwhile clearing jammed material or servicing mayresult in serious personal injury.7. Carry the grass shear by the handle with theblade stopped and taking care not to operatethe power switch. Proper carrying of the grassshear will decrease the risk of inadvertent startingand resultant personal injury from the blades.
