3 ENGLISH3. Keep children and bystanders away whileoperating a power tool. Distractions can causeyou to lose control.Electrical Safety1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Nevermodify the plug in any way. Do not use anyadapter plugs with earthed (grounded) powertools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets willreduce risk of electric shock.2. Avoid body contact with earthed or groundedsurfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges andrefrigerators. There is an increased risk of elec-tric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet con-ditions. Water entering a power tool will increasethe risk of electric shock.4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord forcarrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edgesor moving parts. Damaged or entangled cordsincrease the risk of electric shock.5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an exten-sion cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suit-able for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.6. If operating a power tool in a damp location isunavoidable, use a Residual Current Device(RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reducesthe risk of electric shock.Personal Safety1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and usecommon sense when operating a power tool.Do not use a power tool while you are tired orunder the influence of drugs, alcohol or med-ication. A moment of inattention while operatingpower tools may result in serious personal injury.2. Use personal protective equipment. Alwayswear eye protection. Protective equipment suchas dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, orhearing protection used for appropriate conditionswill reduce personal injuries.3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure theswitch is in the off-position before connectingto power source and/or battery pack, pickingup or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools withyour finger on the switch or energising power toolsthat have the switch on invites accidents.4. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turningthe power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to arotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing andbalance at all times. This enables better controlof the power tool in unexpected situations.6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing orjewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and glovesaway from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewel-lery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.7. If devices are provided for the connection ofdust extraction and collection facilities, ensurethese are connected and properly used. Use ofdust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.8. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use oftools allow you to become complacent and ignoretool safety principles. A careless action can causesevere injury within a fraction of a second.Power tool use and care1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correctpower tool for your application. The correctpower tool will do the job better and safer at therate for which it was designed.2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turnit on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlledwith the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the BATTERY pack, if detachable, fromthe power tool before making any adjustments,changing accessories, or storing power tools. Suchpreventive safety measures reduce the risk of startingthe power tool accidentally.4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children anddo not allow persons unfamiliar with the power toolor these instructions to operate the power tool. Powertools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.5. Maintain power tools and accessories. Check formisalignment or binding of moving parts, breakageof parts and any other condition that may affect thepower tool’s operation. If damaged, have the powertool repaired before use. Many accidents are causedby poorly maintained power tools.6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properlymaintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edgesare less likely to bind and are easier to control.7. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.in accordance with these instructions, taking intoaccount the working conditions and the work to beperformed. Use of the power tool for operations differentfrom those intended could result in a hazardous situation.8. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean andfree from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasp-ing surfaces do not allow for safe handling and controlof the tool in unexpected situations.Service1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repairperson using only identical replacement parts. This willensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.2. Follow instruction for lubricating and chang-ing accessories.Ensure the mitre saw is mounted or placed on a level, firmwork surface before use. A level and firm work surfacereduces the risk of the mitre saw becoming unstable.Additional instructions1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment hasa polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). Thisplug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plugdoes not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it stilldoes not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install theproper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.2. VOLTAGE WARNING: Before connecting thetool to a power source (receptacle, outlet, etc.)be sure the voltage supplied is the same asthat specified on the nameplate of the tool. Apower source with voltage greater than thatspecified for the tool can result in SERIOUSINJURY to the user- as well as damage to thetool. If in doubt, DO NOT PLUG IN THE TOOL.Using a power source with voltage less thanthe nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.3. USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD.
