Section 2 Installation InstructionsPart Number 000001196 3/08 2-23Step 4 Connecting the line set.To prevent oxidation of the copper, purge line set andcondensing unit with dry nitrogen while brazing.Connect The Line Set To The Ice Machine HeadSectionThe line set shut off valves at the back of the icemachine must remain closed and be protected from heatduring the brazing process. Wrap the valves in a wet ragor other type of heat sink prior to brazing. Cool brazejoint with water immediately after brazing to prevent heatmigration to the valve.Connect the Line Set to the Remote CondensingUnitThe compressor oil rapidly absorbs moisture. Beprepared to complete line set installation and start yourevacuation process in order to minimize the time thecompressor is exposed to the atmosphere. (Maximumamount of time the system can be exposed to theatmosphere is 15 minutes). The line set can be routedfor entry through the front or left side of the condensingunit.Remove knockout for (side entry only).• Insert supplied plastic bushings in knockout holes toprevent tubing from contacting sheet metal.• All entry locations use the supplied 90° elbows toroute tubing.• Cut the tubing ends of the suction and liquid linesand braze the line sets to the condensing unit.! WarningThe ice machine head section contains refrigerantcharge. The ice machine head section contains three(3) refrigeration valves that must remain closed untilproper installation of the line sets is completed.VALVES MUST REMAINCLOSED AND BEPROTECTED FROMHEAT WHEN BRAZING(WRAP WITH WET RAG)SV1757! WarningThe condensing unit ships from the factorypressurized with a 50/50 mixture of nitrogen/helium.Bleed off pressure from both suction and liquid lineaccess ports prior to cutting into refrigeration lines.SV2085MINIMIZE THE TIME THE REFRIGERATIONSYSTEM IS EXPOSED TO THE ATMOSPHERE(15 MINUTES MAXIMUM)SUCTIONFILTERSUCTIONLINE
