Section 4 MaintenancePart Number 000001196 3/08 4-11Water Dump ValveThe water dump valve normally does not requireremoval for cleaning. To determine if removal isnecessary:1. Set the toggle switch to ICE.2. Verify the water reservoir fills with water at thebeginning of the freeze cycle.3. While the ice machine is in the freeze cycle, checkthe drain line to determine if water is flowing to thedrain. If water is flowing to the drain:A. Verify the water level in the reservoir is belowthe overflow (reservoir should be 2/3 full).B. Remove, disassemble and clean the dumpvalve.C. If the dump valve is not leaking, do not removeit. Instead, follow the “Ice Machine CleaningProcedure”.Follow the procedure below to remove the dump valve.1. Leaving the wires attached, twist coil and rotate itcounter-clockwise1/4 turn.2. Lift the coil assembly off the valve body.3. Remove the spring, plunger, and nylon gasket fromthe valve body.NOTE: At this point, the water dump valve can easily becleaned. If complete removal is desired, continue withstep 4.NOTE: During cleaning, do not stretch or damage thespring.4. Remove the tubing from the dump valve by twistingthe clamps off.NOTE: Twist the valve body to remove from mountingbracket..Dump Valve Disassembly!
