We’ve seen too many otherwiseperfect components damaged in transit for lack of a proper shippingcarton, so please: Save that box!chooSing a locationChoose a location that is well ventilated (with at least several inches to bothsides and behind), and that will provide a clear line of sight, within 23 feet/7meters, between the T 585’s front panel and your primary listening/viewingposition. This will ensure reliable infrared remote control communications.The T 585 generates a modest amount of heat, but nothing that shouldtrouble adjacent components. It is perfectly possible to stack the T 585 ontop of other components.QUICK STARTIn case you simply cannot wait to experience the performance of your newNAD T 585, we provide the following “Quick Start” instructions to get youunderway.Please make all the connections to your T 585 with the unit unplugged. It isalso advisable to power-down or unplug all associated components whilemaking or breaking any signal or AC power connections.plaY a cd or dvd movie• Using the supplied audio/video cable connector, connect the T 585’scomposite VIDEO OUT jack to your TV/monitor’s corresponding input.Connect likewise the T 585’s MIXED AUDIO OUT to your TV/monitor’sapplicable AUDIO input.• Plug the AC mains plug into the AC outlet; the LED indicator on thefront panel will be illuminated amber indicating the T 585 is in standbymode ready to accept commands from either the front panel POWERbutton or [ON] key of DVD 7 remote control.• To start playback of the DVD player; press the [OPEN/CLOSE] button onthe DVD 7 remote control or in the front panel.• Insert the media and press PLAY [ ] button to start playback. Youshould hear audio and see an image on the TV/monitor.
