Photo CartridgeThis all-in-one print head has been developed especially forprinting photographic images. It contains water-resistantthree-color and Photo Black ink.You should inserted the Photo Cartridge in place of thecolor print head, which you must keep in the storagecontainer provided.See “Paper” and “Using Software” for information on thetypes of printing media to use and the installation of thespecific Photo Kit driver.Re-aligning the Print HeadsWhenever you change the print heads, you must check theiralignment.This operation can be done either using the Printer Monitorin Windows® environment or the printer setup utilityprogram under DOS.See the specific sections in “Quick Start” and “UsingSoftware”.Print Head CareAlways keep the print heads and ink cartridgessealed until they are to be used.Separate the ink cartridge from the print head ONLY toreplace it. Do NOT remove and then reinsert it. The inkcartridge replacement operation should done ONLYwhen a new cartridge is available for IMMEDIATEsubstitution; the print head MUST NOT be left without anink cartridge inserted.Remember to remove the protective tape/capsule (point2 in figure 2 on page VIII) before inserting the printhead/ink cartridge in the printer. Take care not to get inkon your clothes; the ink in the cartridge stains.Do NOT remove the cap (point 1 in figure 2 on page VIII)from or attempt to refill a cartridge with ink, as thisdamages the print head and the printer.DO NOT shake the print head; it is not a fountain pen. Ifit does not print, do the cleaning operations described inthe next section.If you think that the number of pages printed with thecurrent print head/cartridge is fewer than usual, trycleaning the print head. If the “end of ink” conditionpersists, the print head/ink cartridge is empty andrequires replacing.Always press POWERbefore disconnecting your printerfrom the power supply or before switching off yourcomputer.
