WarrantyNEC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (hereinafter NECTECH)warrants this Product to be free of defects in material andworkmanship and agrees to repair or replace any part of theenclosed unit which proves defective under these terms andconditions.Warranty LengthLabor is warranted for one (1) year from the date of the firstconsumer purchase. Parts are warranted for one (1) yearfrom the date of the first consumer purchase.Warranty CoverageThis warranty may be enforced only by the first consumerpurchaser and it is not transferable.Except as specified below, this warranty covers all defectsin material or workmanship in this Product. The followingare not covered by this warranty:1. Any Product which is not distributed in the U.S.A. orCanada by NECTECH or which is not purchased in theU.S.A. or Canada by the first consumer purchaser.2. Any Product on which the serial number has beendefaced, modified or removed.3. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:(a) Accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning orother acts of nature, improper storage, unauthorizedProduct modification, or failure to follow instructionssupplied with the Product.(b) Alteration, repair or attempted repair by anyone notauthorized by NECTECH.(c) Any shipment of the Product (claims must be presentedto the carrier).(d) Removal or installation of the Product.(e) Any other cause which does not relate to a Productdefect.4. Cartons, carrying cases, batteries, external cabinets,magnetic tapes, or any accessories used in connectionwith the Product.5. This warranty covers only NECTECH-suppliedcomponents. Service required as a result of third partycomponents is not covered under this warranty.Warranty SupportNECTECH will pay labor and material expenses for covereditems, but we will not pay for the following:1. Removal or installation charges.2. Costs of initial technical adjustments (set-up), includingadjustment of user controls.3. Payment of shipping and related charges incurred inreturning the Product for warranty repair.E-2 Getting Service and Support
