Chapter 8.0 Safety Instructions8.0 Safety InstructionsThis equipment is stationary-fixed DIRECT PLUG-IN and must be installed by Service Personsonly (Service Person is defined as a person having the appropriate technical training and experiencenecessary to be aware of hazards to which that person may be exposed in performing a task and ofmeasures to minimize the risks to that person or other persons). It must be installed and used withinan environment that provides the pollution degree max 2, over voltages category II, in non-haz-ardous, indoor locations only.WARNING! This equipment has no mains on/off switch; if the equipment must be quickly dis-connected, the plug of the direct plug-in power supply is intended to serve as the disconnectingdevice; it is imperative that access to the mains plug and associated mains socket/outlet, is neverobstructed.When using equipment connected to the mains and/or to the telecommunication network, there arebasic safety instructions that shall always be followed. Refer to the safety instructions providedwith this product and save them for future reference. To reduce the risk of fire, electric shockand/or injury, observe the following:l Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Opening or removing the cover mayexpose you to dangerous voltage or other risk. Refer servicing to service persons. Neveropen the device yourself.l Use authorized accessories only with this equipment!DO NOT leave and/or deposit ANY object on the top of the cabinet of this equipment!The cabinet as it is installed on the wall, is not designed to support any supplementaryweight!l Do not touch the equipment and its connected cables during an electrical storm; there maybe a risk of electric shock.l Never touch un-insulated wires or terminals unless the equipment has been disconnectedfrom the mains supply and from the telecommunication network!l Ensure that cables are positioned so that accidents cannot occur. Connected cables mustnot be subject to excessive mechanical strain. Do not spill any type of liquid on the equip-ment.l Do not use the Alarm system to report a gas leak if the system is near a leak.These safety instructions should not prevent you from contacting the distributor and/or the man-ufacturer to obtain any further clarification and/or answers to your concerns.8.1 Regular Maintenance and TroubleshootingKeep your Alarm Controller in optimal condition by following all the instructions that are includedwithin this manual and/or marked on the product. It is the end-user and/or installer’s responsibilityto ensure that the disposal of the used batteries is made according to the waste recovery and recyc-ling regulations applicable to the intended market.8.1.1 Cleaning and Maintenancel Clean the units by wiping with a damp cloth only.l Do not wipe the front cover with alcohol.l Do not use any water or any other liquid.- 22 -
