About the engineEngine identificationBoth the engine and the transmis-sion has an identification plate thatcontain several informations.Keep these plates accessible andin good condition. Record and keepthe engine and transmission serialnumber and designation. Thesenumbers should always be quotedwhen ordering service and replace-ment parts.The engine identification plate is asfollow:• TYP indicates the commercialdesignation of the engine.• NR indicates the engine serialnumber.• CODE lists various specificationsof the engine.Break inOperate the engine with care forthe first 50 hours of operation.Do not race the engine while it iscold. Do not operate it at full loadexcept for short periods. Neverrun the engine at constant enginespeed for long periods during thebreak in period.Check the oil and coolant levelfrequently during the running-inperiod. The oil consumption can bemore important during the running-in period.Engine installationThe installation must be carried outby an authorized Nanni workshopin accordance with the installationinstructions.
