4-6 | ni.comChapter 4 Parallel/Series OperationSettings (Master-Slave Parallel Operation)Setting the Master Unit, the Slave Units, and the Number of Unitsin Parallel Operation (Including the Master Unit)Turn the output off, and then configure the master unit (CF01: 2 to 4) and the slave units (CF01:SLAV) in master-slave parallel operation. On the master unit, set the number of units inmaster-slave parallel operation (CF01: 2 to 4). By factory default, the RMX programmablepower supply is set to independent operation (CF01: 1).Turn the POWER switch off and on to enable the setting. Be sure to set the number of units inmaster-slave parallel operation (CF01) to the actual number of units that are connected. If thisparameter is incorrect, settings such as those for the current and the overcurrent protection(OCP) cannot be set correctly, and the measured current will not be displayed correctly.Setting the Voltage and CurrentUse the master unit to set the voltage and current. The current that is output is the sum of thecurrents of the master unit and the slave units. When you set the number of units in master-slaveparallel operation (CF01), the maximum output current (105% of the rated output current of asingle unit × the number of units in parallel) is set. If you switch to the setting display (when theSET key is lit), this value is displayed. The last voltage that was set on the master unit is used. When you press OUTPUT, the set voltage and current are output. You can set the voltage andcurrent to any values.Setting the Overvoltage Protection (OVP) and OvercurrentProtection (OCP) of the Master UnitWhen you are performing master-slave parallel operation, set the overvoltage protection (OVP)and overcurrent protection (OCP) of the master unit. When you set the number of units inmaster-slave parallel operation (CF01), the maximum overcurrent protection value (112% of therated output current of a single unit × the number of units in parallel) is set. If you switch to theOVP/OCP setting display (when the OCP•OVP key is lit), this value is displayed. The lastovervoltage protection value that was set on the master unit is used.Table 4-1.
