Digital cameras can mimic thisadjustment by processing images according to the color of the light source. This isknown as “white balance.” For natural colors, choose a white balance setting thatmatches the light source before shooting. Although the default setting, Auto, canbe used under most types of lighting, the white balance setting suited to aparticular light source can be specified manually to achieve more accurate results. The effects of the selected option can be previewed in the monitor (A 6). Atsettings other than Auto, the icon for the current setting is displayed in themonitor.B Note on White Balance• There are functions with which this setting cannot be enabled.
