133Technical NotesImage/Sound File and Folder NamesPictures, movies, voice memos and voice recordings are assigned file names asfollows.• Files are stored in folders named with a folder number followed by a five-character identifier: “P_” plus a three-digit sequence number for pictures takenusing panorama assist (e.g. “101P_001”; A 40), “INTVL” for interval timerphotography (e.g. “101INTVL”; A 100), “SOUND” for voice recordings (e.g.“101SOUND”; A 75), and “NIKON” for all other pictures (e.g. “100NIKON”). Whenthe number of files within a folder reaches 9999, a new folder will be created.File numbers will be assigned automatically starting with “0001.”• Files copied using Copy > Selected images or Copy sound files > Selectedfiles are copied to the current folder, where they are assigned new file numbersin ascending order starting from the largest file number in memory. Copy > Allimages and Copy sound files > Copy all files copy all folders from the sourcemedium; file names do not change but new folder numbers are assigned inascending order, starting from the largest folder number on the destinationmedium (A 79, 113).• Folders can hold up to 200 pictures; if a picture is taken when the current foldercontains 200 pictures, a new folder will be created by adding one to the currentfolder number.
