299• The internal temperature of the battery may rise while the battery is inuse. Attempting to charge the battery while the internal temperature iselevated will impair battery performance, and the battery may notcharge or charge only partially. Wait for the battery to cool beforecharging.• Charge the battery indoors at ambient temperatures of 5 °C–35 °C(41 °F–95 °F). Do not use the battery at ambient temperatures below0 °C (32 °F) or above 40 °C (104 °F); failure to observe this precautioncould damage the battery or impair its performance. Capacity may bereduced and charging times increase at battery temperatures from 0 °C(32 °F) to 15 °C (59 °F) and from 45 °C (113 °F) to 60 °C (140 °F). Thebattery will not charge if its temperature is below 0 °C (32 °F) or above60 °C (140 °F).• If the CHARGE lamp flashes quickly (about eight times a second) duringcharging, confirm that the temperature is in the correct range and thenunplug the charger and remove and reinsert the battery. If the problempersists, cease use immediately and take battery and charger to yourretailer or a Nikon-authorized service representative.• Do not move the charger or touch the battery during charging. Failureto observe this precaution could in very rare instances result in thecharger showing that charging is complete when the battery is onlypartially charged. Remove and reinsert the battery to begin chargingagain.• Battery capacity may temporarily drop if the battery is charged at lowtemperatures or used at a temperature below the temperature atwhich it was charged. If the battery is charged at a temperature below5 °C (41 °F), the battery life indicator in the Battery info (0 273) displaymay show a temporary decrease.• Continuing to charge the battery after it is fully charged can impairbattery performance.
