SC6500|Side Skirt Replacement and AdjustmentDuring normal use the side skirt blades will wear in time. The operator will notice a small amount of waterleaking out underneath the side skirts. You can easily adjust the side skirt height to lower the blades toallow the squeegee to pick up the water more effectively.To reverse or replace the scrub system side skirt blade(s):1. Loosen the two side skirt RetainerKnobs (two per side) and removethe Side Skirt Assemblies from thescrub deck. Remove the Side SkirtAssemblies by first sliding themforward, then pulling them off.2. Remove all the hardware thatholds the Skirt Blades to theBracket Weldments. Note that theSkirt Blade is held on with tool-lessretainers. Simply loosen the largeThumb Nuts, then turn the Knobson the outside of the Skirt Strapuntil they are horizontal, thenpush them through the slots.3. The main Skirt Blade has fourworking edges as shown. Turn theSkirt Blade so a clean, undamagededge faces toward the center ofthe machine. Replace the SkirtBlades as a set if all four edges arenicked, torn or worn beyond theirability to be adjusted.4. Reinstall the Side Skirt Assembliesonto the machine and check theheight of the Skirt Blades forcorrect contact on the floor whenthe brush deck is lowered to thescrub position. The Skirt Bladesshould fold over just enough whenscrubbing that all the waste wateris contained inside the skirting. Ifnecessary, adjust the height of theSide Skirt Assemblies as follows:a. Loosen the Retainer Knobs.b. Rotate the Height AdjustingKnobs to raise or lowerthe Side Skirt Assembly asnecessary.c. When the Skirt Blade contactis correct, tighten the RetainerKnobs.Note: Make small adjustments to obtain good blade wiping.
