Text entryYou can use two methods forentering text and numbers:• Standard mode is the only way toenter text into the contacts list,and to rename caller groups.• Predictive input is a quick andeasy method for writing messagesand creating a calendar note.■ Standard modeText (Abc)• Press a key once to insert the firstletter on the key, twice for thesecond letter, etc. If you pausebriefly, the last letter in thedisplay is accepted and yourphone awaits the next entry.• Press 0 to enter a space therebyaccepting a completed word.• Press 1 to enter a period (.).• Press * to display special characters.See more about specialcharacters on the following pages.Numbers (123)To switch to 123 mode from Abc mode,press and hold # at any message entryscreen until the icon in the upper leftcorner of the display switches fromAbc to 123 (or vice versa).To enter a single number in Abc mode,press and hold the specific numberkey until the number appears.Punctuation and specialcharactersWhile at any text entry screen, press* to display special characters (pressand hold * if predictive text is on).Scroll to navigate through the list ofspecial characters. Once a characteris highlighted, select Insert to insertthe character into your message.Delete textTo delete text, you can use eitheroption.• Select Clear to backspace thecursor and delete a character.• Select and hold Clear tobackspace continuously anddelete characters.■ Predictive text inputPredictive text input allows you towrite messages quickly using yourkeypad and the built-in dictionary. Itis much faster than the standardmode method, because for each letter,you only press the corresponding keyon your keypad once.
