You can send them manually fromyour device keypad, or send themautomatically by saving them in yourdevice.Set typeIn standby mode, select Menu >Settings > Phone settings > DTMFtones > Manual DTMF tones and one ofthe following options:Continuous—Used to set the tonesound for as long as you press and holda key.Fixed—Used to send tones of theduration you specify in the DTMF tonelength option.Off—Used to turn off tones. No tonesare sent when you press a key.Set lengthYou can specify DTMF-tone length forthe Fixed option. In standby mode,select Menu > Settings > Phonesettings > DTMF tones > DTMF tonelength > Short (95 ms) or Long(350 ms).Start-up toneYou can set your phone to play (or notto play) a start-up tone when thephone is powered on.In standby mode, select Menu >Settings > Phone settings > Start-uptone > On or Off.Welcome noteYou can write a welcome note whichbriefly appears on the display screenwhenever you switch your phone on.Note: Dictionary mode is notavailable for enteringwelcome note text.1. In standby mode, select Menu >Settings > Phone settings >Welcome note.2. Enter a note (up to 44 characters).Press * to display and select fromavailable special characters.3. When you are finished, selectOptions > Save. Select Options >Delete to delete the previous textand begin creating anotherwelcome note.Help text activationYour phone displays brief descriptionsfor most menu items. When you arriveat a feature or menu, pause for about15 seconds and wait for the help textto display. Use the scroll keys to pagethrough the full help text, if necessary.The default setting for Help text is on.However, you can turn help text on oroff by doing the following.In standby mode, select Menu >Settings > Phone settings > Help textactivation > On or Off.
