The fullperformance of a new battery isachieved only after two or threecomplete charge and discharge cycles. The battery can be charged anddischarged hundreds of times, but itwill eventually wear out. When the talkand standby times are noticeablyshorter than normal, replace thebattery. Use only Nokia approvedbatteries, and recharge your batteryonly with Nokia approved chargersdesignated for this device. If a replacement battery is being usedfor the first time or if the battery hasnot been used for a prolonged period,it may be necessary to connect thecharger and then disconnect andreconnect it to start the charging.Unplug the charger from the electricalplug and the device when not in use.Do not leave fully charged batteryconnected to a charger, sinceovercharging may shorten its lifetime. If left unused, a fully charged batterywill lose its charge over time.If the battery is completely discharged,it may take a few minutes before thecharging indicator appears on thedisplay or before any calls can bemade.Use the battery only for its intendedpurpose. Never use any charger orbattery that is damaged.Do not short-circuit the battery.Accidental short-circuiting can occurwhen a metallic object such as a coin, clip, or pen causes direct connection ofthe positive (+) and negative (-)terminals of the battery. (These looklike metal strips on the battery.)This might happen, for example, whenyou carry a spare battery in yourpocket or purse. Short-circuiting theterminals may damage the battery orthe connecting object.Leaving the battery in hot or coldplaces, such as in a closed car insummer or winter conditions, willreduce the capacity and lifetime of thebattery. Always try to keep the battery
