Security moduleThe security module improves security services forapplications requiring a browser connection and allowsyou to use a digital signature. The security module maycontain certificates as well as private and public keys.The certificates are saved in the security module by theservice provider.To view or change the security module settings, selectMenu > Settings > Security > Security modulesettings.CertificatesImportant: Even if the use of certificates makesthe risks involved in remote connections and softwareinstallation considerably smaller, they must be usedcorrectly in order to benefit from increased security. Theexistence of a certificate does not offer any protectionby itself; the certificate manager must contain correct,authentic, or trusted certificates for increased securitySecurity > Authority certificates or Usercertificates.is displayed during a connection if the datatransmission between the phone and the contentserver is encrypted.The security icon does not indicate that the datatransmission between the gateway and the contentserver (or place where the requested resource is stored)is secure. The service provider secures the datatransmission between the gateway and the contentserver.Digital signatureYou can create digital signatures with your phone ifyour SIM card has a security module. The digitalsignature is the same as signing your name to a paperbill, contract, or other document.To create a digital signature, select a link on a page (forexample, the title of the book you want to buy and itsprice).
