All rights reserved. 27Use Presence (network service) toinform others about youravailability, that is, when, where andhow you want to be contacted.Presence allows you to view andcreate a dynamic profile of yourcontact details, visible to other usersof the service, to share informationor control services. Presenceinformation can include youravailability, whether you preferpeople to call or send messages,where you are and what you aredoing.Before you can use Presence, youneed to find a service that you wantto use and then save the settings ofthat service. You may receive thesettings in a special text message,called a smart message, from theservice provider that offers thePresence service. See ”Receivingsmart messages” on page 53. Formore information, contact yourservice provider.The Presence application allows youto change your own publishedinformation and manage who isauthorised to see your presence. Toview the presence information ofothers, you must use Contacts. See”Contacts” on page 24.Changing your availabilityinformationSelect Options → Myavailability and select:• Available - You are available forpeople to call or send youmessages. For example, when youhave chosen this option for yourgeneral profile. See ”Profiles” onpage 77.• Busy - You may be available forpeople to call or send youmessages, for example, whenyour phone is in meeting profile.• Not available - You are notavailable for people to call orsend you messages, for example,when your phone is in silentprofile.Changing who can view yourPresence informationSelect Options → Viewers andselect:• Public pres. - Displays limitedinformation, for managing waysfor people to contact you. This isavailable to anyone you have notblocked.• My availability - SelectAvailable, Busy, or Notavailable.
