MessagingSelect Menu → Messaging.In Messaging you can create, send,receive, view, edit, and organise textmessages, multimedia messages,e-mail messages, presentations,documents, smart messages, andspecial text messages containingdata. You can also receive messagesand data via an infrared or Bluetoothtechnology connection, receiveservice messages, cell broadcastmessages, and send servicecommands.Note that only devices that offerpicture message features can receiveand display picture messages.Text messages and multimediamessages use shared memory. See"Shared memory" on page ix.Your device supports the sending oftext messages beyond the normal160-character limit. If your messageexceeds 160 characters, it will besent as a series of two or moremessages.In the navigation bar, you can seethe message length indicatorcounting backwards from 160. Forexample, 10 (2) means that you canstill add 10 characters for the text tobe sent as two messages.Note that using special (Unicode)characters such as ë, â, á, ì take upmore space.If there are special characters in yourmessage, the indicator may notshow the message length correctly.Before the message is sent, thedevice tells you if the messageexceeds the maximum lengthallowed for one message. You cancancel sending by pressing Cancel oryou can save the message in thedraft folder.Options in the Messagingmain view are: Create message,Connect (shown if you have definedsettings for the mailbox), orDisconnect (shown if there is anactive connection to the mailbox),SIM messages, Cell broadcast,Service command, Settings, Help,and Exit.
